Hey, ho! Finally, I have something to blog about! My in-laws drove down to Naples for a week to visit Karl’s sister and stopped at our house for the weekend on the way home. It was a short but sweet visit filled mainly with the usual…conversation, games, food and cocktails.
Since Saturday was a gorgeous, warm and sunny spring day, we decided to drive downtown to see some sights. Our first stop was the Riverside Farmer’s/Art’s Market.
I would like to go back in a month or so when there are more vendors and spend more time getting to look through each of the stands and stocking up on some fresh vegetables.
I loved this sign on the port-a-potties at the market…
If you are going to have a Portable Sanitation business, I can’t think of a more perfect name and motto! Ha!
Instead of lingering at the market, we headed to the Riverwalk and walked a little over a mile down towards downtown.
Then we drove over the Metropolitan Park, across from Everbank Field, to check out the water views from there and see the original Jacksonville Firehouse, built in 1902.
Our final stop of the day was a tour of Everbank Field/Carl’s office.
Sue and Karl were finally able to see where Carl spends his days as a busy executive for the Jaguar Foundation.
The stadium is currently undergoing some renovations to expand the Club level so there was a lot of activity going on.
It was a great day to be outdoors and explore some new parts of the city we call home.
